Production Process

Wedging the Clay

The first step in ceramic production is wedging the clay. This process aims to eliminate air bubbles from the clay, making it more compact and uniform. Skipping this step can leave air bubbles in the clay body, leading to cracks and deformations during drying and firing.

Shaping the Clay

After wedging the clay, the next step is shaping the clay body. Using both hands, the clay is shaped into the desired form. The shaped clay is then placed on a wheel, and specialized tools are used to smooth and refine the surface, finalizing the shape.

Air Drying the Clay Body

The rough clay body needs to undergo a period of natural air drying. This process must occur under specific humidity and temperature conditions to ensure even drying without cracking. After shaping, the clay body must be placed diagonally on a ware board, not upright. Upright placement can negatively affect the quality of the clay body.

Composing&Painting

First outlining the layout and contours of the painting with a pencil. And then hand-painting each detail and pattern meticulously.

Dipping

Dipping the clay body into the glaze briefly, utilizing its absorbency to adhere the glaze. We opt to glaze after painting, a technique that demands high skill but also ensures that the painted designs are permanently preserved on the porcelain. This method supports heating, high temperatures, and dishwasher cleaning, while also being mercury-free and non-toxic.

Sealing the kiln door

Once the kiln is loaded, it is sealed with kiln bricks, leaving openings for the firebox and wood insertion. After lighting the fire, the door is sealed with refractory clay.

Production End

After production, select the finest products and then proceed with packaging and delivery. The yield of quality products in each production run is less than 65%, making each item exceedingly precious and truly unique.
